Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Mumbai, Jan 29 (NationPress) Shiv Sena leader Shaina NC paid a visit on Thursday to the family of Pinky Mali, a flight attendant who tragically lost her life while on duty, to offer her condolences and pay her respects at their home.
In an interview with IANS, Shaina NC highlighted the importance of recognizing the family of the deceased flight attendant, alongside the national tributes being paid to Ajit Dada, whose demise in the same unfortunate incident has caused a stir in political circles and left the entire Sabarmati region in mourning.
“While we all honor Ajit Dada, it is essential that the Mali family receives equal tribute, especially for their daughter who lost her life fulfilling her duties,” she stated.
“We must unite to support the Mali family and extend our condolences. As the last rites are conducted, the critical lesson from this incident should be to examine the failures that led to this tragedy and ensure such occurrences are prevented in the future,” she added.
Pinky Mali, a flight attendant from Worli in Mumbai, lost her life in a plane crash in Baramati, where Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar was also present. Her grieving father, Shivkumar Mali, shared on Wednesday that his only desire was to have his daughter’s body returned to him so that he could perform her last rites.
In addition to Deputy CM Ajit Pawar, the passengers on the Learjet 45 aircraft (registration VT-SSK), operated by VSR, included a personal security officer (PSO), Vidip Jadhav; flight attendant Pinky Mali; and two crew members — Pilot-in-Command (PIC) Sumit Kapur and Second-in-Command (SIC) Shambhavi Pathak.
This visit from Shaina NC comes amidst a broader public discourse regarding workplace safety and the obligations of employers to safeguard their employees.
Although much of the media attention has been directed towards the high-profile aspects of the incident, Shaina NC insisted that equal focus must be given to the families of those directly impacted, whose sorrow often goes unnoticed.
