Should the SIT Report Uncover the Masterminds and Financers Behind the Dharamsthala Complainant?
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Belagavi, Dec 10 (NationPress) The President of BJP's Karnataka unit, B.Y. Vijayendra, has insisted that the Special Investigation Team (SIT) must disclose not only the involvement of the 'Burude' (skull) gang, which includes the complainant and activists, but also the identities of those who financed these individuals and orchestrated the 'conspiracy'.
In response to media inquiries on Wednesday, Vijayendra expressed that the actions of the Burude gang have raised concerns among the public regarding religious traditions. He criticized the state government for its passive stance, asserting that it cannot merely sit back while claiming an SIT investigation is ongoing.
"In the Dharmasthala case, only the apparent participants have been identified. However, the citizens of the state are questioning who the true masterminds are. There are discussions suggesting that these masterminds have close ties to the Chief Minister," remarked Vijayendra, urging the SIT to expedite its report. He condemned the current investigation as proceeding at a leisurely rate that aligns with the government's convenience.
In response to another query, he stated that the government should have come to a 'realization' after observing the very individuals who disseminated propaganda about Dharmasthala. He described them as appearing akin to contract killers, competing against each other.
Vijayendra further accused the individuals behind the conspiracy, including those linked to the involved actors, of being embedded within the government apparatus.
"They are closely associated with the Chief Minister," he asserted.
This discussion is prevalent throughout the state, and he demanded that the truth be unveiled to the public.
"This is not simply a mask man issue; it represents a significant conspiracy aimed at undermining Hindu sentiments and religious beliefs," Vijayendra stated.
"It doesn't necessitate an SIT to declare after six months that these individuals are accused. Anyone on the street can discern that," he remarked.
He accused the government of attempting to evade public scrutiny through diversionary tactics.
In a significant update, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) investigating the Dharmasthala case has presented its report to the Congress-led government in Karnataka.
The SIT has previously submitted a preliminary chargesheet in a local court located in the Mangaluru district.
Sources have indicated that the report has exonerated the temple management and alleged that the complainant, in coordination with specific activists, had conspired against the temple officials.
When questioned about his previous assertion that a conspiracy had transpired in the Dharmasthala case, Deputy Chief Minister and State Congress President D.K. Shivakumar stated on Wednesday in Belagavi, "I am familiar with the history of Dharmasthala, and I also know that none of those involved would ever commit such an act. That is why I spoke about this matter with confidence."
