The authorities have successfully identified the individual responsible for the incident, and the Verna involved in the crash has been confiscated.
The victim has been recognized as Somita Singh, originally from Lucknow. She was returning home to Noida from Gurugram’s Leopard Trail area alongside her biking group when a speeding Verna collided with her motorcycle, resulting in critical injuries.
Although the bike sustained minor damage, the police were alerted about the accident by her group, and she was immediately transported to a government hospital, where medical staff pronounced her dead upon arrival.
A team from the Badshahpur police station conducted an investigation at the scene, notified the victim’s family, and arranged for a postmortem examination of her remains.
An official reported that on Monday morning, Somita's father, Mahendra Pal, arrived in Gurugram to collect her body following the autopsy.
The police stated that a case has been filed against the riding group based on his complaint, under the applicable legal provisions at the Badshahpur police station.
Somita had joined her company in Noida approximately eight months ago, where she participated in biking activities with the ‘Let’s Ride India Group’, a community she recently became a part of.
She had also been undergoing training for sports biking without her family's knowledge.
The ‘Let’s Ride Group’ provides sports bike training for women and offers rental services for motorcycles.
The bike involved in the accident was rented from this organization. Somita had traveled to Gurugram with a group of women riders from Sector 135, Noida, comprising around 20 to 25 participants.
According to police reports, Somita had joined the biking group only recently and often went out with friends on weekends.
Investigating officer Naveen Kumar from Badshahpur police station stated that they were notified of a woman who had been in an accident and had subsequently died at Sector-10 Civil Hospital.
Upon receiving the information, he arrived at the hospital, and Somita's body was transported to the mortuary via a private ambulance.
“The victim was riding a red G310-BMW (DL3SEM-4946) sports bike. She had visited Leopard Cafe in Gurugram on Saturday evening with her biking group from Noida.
