Noida, July 27 (NationPress) A speeding BMW tragically ended the life of a five-year-old girl and left her father along with another relative injured while they were traveling on a scooter in Noida Sector 20, as reported by the police on Sunday. The reckless driver and his passenger, both students, have been apprehended.
Aayat lost her life in the incident after the vehicle, operated by Yash Sharma, collided with her father’s scooter on Saturday night, according to police reports.
The injured individuals, Gul Mohammad (the girl's father) and his uncle Raja, both residents of Sadarpur near Sector 45, Noida, are currently receiving medical attention at a local hospital.
Gul Mohammad and Raja were hurrying Aayat to a hospital for urgent medical care when the unfortunate event occurred, as stated by the police.
While driving his scooter towards the Post Graduate Institute of Child Health in Sector 30, their vehicle was struck by the BMW, the police reported.
The force of the collision propelled Aayat into the air, causing her father and uncle to sustain injuries on the roadside, according to police accounts.
The driver, Yash Sharma, resides in Noida Sector 37, while his co-passenger Abhishek is from Sector 70, as per police information.
The collision caused severe damage to both the car and the scooter. Authorities have seized the BMW and the mangled scooter and transported them to the Sector 20 police station.
The police have arranged for a medical examination of the car's occupants to determine if alcohol was a factor in the incident.
In addition to interrogating the suspects, the police have begun collecting CCTV footage from the vicinity of the accident to reconstruct the events leading to the crash.
This incident has revived memories of a similar event in Mumbai, where a speeding BMW driven by a politician's son fatally struck a woman in Worli on July 7 last year.
