Hosur, April 21 (NationPress) The remarkable Stephen Jyothi Rogers Pachigalla from Hyderabad kicked off his journey in the FMSCI Indian National Drag Racing Championship 2025 (4-wheeler) by achieving a stunning triple crown in the elite Unrestricted category, while also setting a new National record. He dominated the category in both the first and second rounds hosted at the Taneja Aerospace in Hosur.

Over the course of the three-day event, organized by Speedway Motorsports and Vroom Motorsports, Pachigalla, piloting an Audi R8 in the top Unrestricted class, excelled in a fiercely competitive environment, clocking 09.635 seconds for the 402-meter sprint in Round 1 on Friday and improving it to 08.948 seconds in Round-2 on Sunday, thus establishing a new National benchmark.

He further solidified his reputation by clinching victory in the Indian Open M3 (Unlimited) race on Sunday with a time of 08.955 seconds.

Later, during the Vroom Drag Meet, a supporting event, Pachigalla achieved a time of 08.849 seconds, surpassing the National record he had previously set.

Additionally, veteran racer Vidyaprakash Damodaran from Coimbatore, who is 80 years old and driving an Audi TT, remained undefeated in the Pro-Stock 3061cc – 4002cc class across both rounds.

The enthusiastic crowd witnessed thrilling performances as Bengaluru’s Shreyas Mahendra triumphed in three categories – Pro-Stock 2051-2550cc, Indian Open M1, and M2 – in Round-1.

Categories were divided for petrol and diesel vehicles, in addition to the Indian Open, which accepted vehicles fueled by either type.
