Chennai, Dec 27 (NationPress) The speed ace from Bengaluru, Hemanth Muddappa, has further solidified his position in the title chase by securing two impressive victories and a podium finish during the third and second-to-last round of the MMSC fmsci Indian National Motorcycle Drag Racing Championship 2025 at the Madras International Circuit in Chennai on Saturday.

Representing Mantra Racing, Muddappa showcased his exceptional talent by clinching victory in the Unrestricted Super Sport 4-stroke category with a remarkable time of 8.269 seconds, narrowly beating Hanuman Pawshe from Fast Track Racing India, who recorded 8.301s. This impressive performance has allowed Muddappa to close in on Pawshe, both tied at 55 championship points, while Alimon Sai Dalvi trails with 53 points after facing technical issues.

Muddappa continued his winning streak in the 1051–1650cc category, achieving a time of 8.542s, ahead of Mujahid Pasha (8.629s) and Alimon Sai Dalvi (8.694s). With this victory, Muddappa is now in a strong position to secure the championship, leading with 75 points, followed by Pasha with 54 and Dalvi with 38.

In the fiercely contested 851–1050cc category, Hanuman Pawshe clinched a narrow victory with a time of 8.338s, just ahead of Muddappa (8.367s). Nevertheless, the 15-time National Drag Champion remains at the forefront of the title chase with 68 points, while Pawshe holds 53.

Muddappa opted not to compete in the 551–850cc class, which had only two other participants. Shaik Yunus from Madanapalle took the win in 9.655s, followed by Karthik R from Team 99 Racing (9.930s). His tuner, Sharan, remarked that it did not seem fitting to pursue a National Championship title with such limited competition.

The Girls' class saw C2 Racing dominate, with Lapis Lazuli from Nagercoil outperforming Shanti Chandra of Hyderabad.

In additional classes, Syed Imran from Bengaluru had an outstanding performance with two wins and a podium finish, triumphing in the 361–550cc Twin Cylinder and Super Sport 2-stroke up to 130cc categories while also securing a second place in the 2-stroke 131–165cc race.

Top honors in the Super Sport Indian 165cc class went to Madhan Kumar from Mumbai, while Mujahid Pasha of Bengaluru took the 361–550cc Single Cylinder title, finishing ahead of teammate Sarah Hayat Khan. The Super Sport 2-stroke 131–165cc championship was claimed by Prashanth S from Bengaluru, and in the Super Sport 4-stroke 166–225cc class, Ali Hussain emerged victorious.

The decisive Round 4, which will determine the winners of the National Championship across various classes, is scheduled for Sunday.
