Srinagar, June 27 (NationPress) - During his visit to the Special National Integration Camp (SNIC) 2025 at the Badami Bagh Cantonment in Srinagar on Friday, Jammu and Kashmir Lt Governor Manoj Sinha emphasized that the true strength of India is found in its unity in diversity. He remarked that this essence is visibly present in gatherings such as the SNIC 2025.
A statement from the Defence Ministry noted: “The Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, attended the Special National Integration Camp (SNIC) 2025 at Badami Bagh Cantonment, Srinagar.
“Organized by the JK&L Directorate under the leadership of ADG, Maj Gen Anupinder Bevli, VSM, the camp brings together 340 NCC cadets and Associate NCC Officers (ANOs) from all over the nation, aiming to promote national integration, cultural harmony, discipline, and leadership skills among youth.
The Lieutenant Governor was greeted with a ceremonial Guard of Honour from the NCC cadets, followed by an engaging cultural program that highlighted India’s rich tapestry of cultural diversity.
The occasion was attended by numerous esteemed dignitaries, including Shantmanu, Financial Commissioner of Higher Education; Vijay Kumar Bidhuri, Divisional Commissioner of Kashmir; Sarmad Hafeez, Secretary of Youth Services & Sports; Akshay Labroo, Deputy Commissioner of Srinagar; Mrs. Ritu Mahajan, Additional Secretary of School Education; Padma Shri awardee Farooq Ahmad Mir; and high-ranking Army officials, including Lt Gen Prashant Srivastava, AVSM, SM, GOC Chinar Corps, and Maj Gen Saurabh Sharma, SM, COS Chinar Corps, emphasizing the importance of this event.
“In his speech, Manoj Sinha praised the NCC for its essential role in nation-building and recognized the cadets for their enthusiasm, discipline, and vigor. He stated, ‘The strength of India lies in its unity in diversity, and it is truly uplifting to observe this unity fully manifested at SNIC Srinagar,’” the statement detailed.
The Jammu and Kashmir L-G congratulated JUO Abida Afreen and Cadet Mohit Knathia from the JK&L Directorate for their remarkable achievement in summiting Mt. Everest in May 2025, and commended SCC Ekta Kumari of JK&L Dte for leading the NCC Girls Contingent during the Kartavya Path at the Republic Day Parade 2025.
“He also recognized the significant contributions of NCC cadets in humanitarian missions during Operation Sindhoor. The Hon’ble LG challenged the cadets to embrace and propagate the core values of discipline, service, and unity learned during the camp among their peers and communities. He expressed confidence in their potential to drive positive societal change and serve as champions of a strong, inclusive, and united India.
