New Delhi, Feb 6 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday motivated students to play an active role in shaping a Viksit Bharat during an interactive session held at his residence, part of the ninth edition of 'Pariksha Pe Charcha'.
During a stimulating exchange with selected students, including Arjun Patel from Gujarat and Sneha Roy from Assam, PM Modi emphasized the connection between personal accountability and the nation's future.
"When I refer to a developed India, I envision India a century from now, celebrating 100 years of Independence. How old will you be then?" he asked, making references to historical struggles.
"Mahatma Gandhi returned from Africa in 1915 and spearheaded the freedom movement. From 1915 to 1947, the fight for independence was relentless... Bhagat Singh bravely accepted hanging to realize the dream of freedom -- a vision that took shape 30 years before independence. The sacrifices made during that time led us to freedom. So, is it possible to build a developed India through our collective efforts or not?" PM Modi challenged the students.
The Prime Minister urged the youth to embrace this vision.
"Never forget this dream. Write it down at home: 'To contribute to a developed India, I must take these steps'," he advised.
He pointed out the prevalent "mentality of slavery" in daily choices, prompting students to reassess their consumption habits.
"From the moment we brush our teeth in the morning to the next day, make a list of items you use... your comb might be foreign-made, your shoes could be from abroad. Document it. Try to identify ten items you will replace with Indian alternatives this month. By next month, let’s ensure that all foreign products are removed from your home," he stated.
Highlighting the importance of self-reliance and pride, PM Modi said, "In my life, in my family, I will prioritize using Indian products whenever possible. If we don’t take pride in our own goods, how can we expect the world to?"
He extended this sentiment to civic responsibilities like cleanliness, asserting, "We will not create waste... We will promote cleanliness in our families, neighborhoods, and spread the message. It is our duty."
Addressing the potential of the youth, he remarked, "Nothing can hinder us from creating a developed India, and when you reach the age of 35 or 40, you will reap the benefits. Shouldn’t you engage in tasks whose rewards you will enjoy?"
PM Modi encouraged the youth to harness opportunities: "You have the entire sky as your canvas. There are countless technological avenues available to you. Utilize them to enhance your capabilities."
This session, as part of a comprehensive nationwide initiative, reinforced themes of confidence, duty, and national pride, transforming exam discussions into a clarion call for nation-building. Students departed inspired, with certificates available through MyGov, as Pariksha Pe Charcha continues to evolve into a celebration of learning and accountability.
