Mumbai, July 3 (NationPress) Director-producer Suneel Darshan has shared insights on his film ‘Jaanwar’ and the stark contrast in its reception across India compared to its performance in Mumbai.
In a recent conversation with IANS, he revealed that while entertainment critics in Mumbai were critical of the film, it achieved remarkable success in other regions of India, especially in states like Bihar and Uttar Pradesh.
He stated, “I created that film, and it wasn’t embraced in Mumbai. However, it garnered appreciation not only in India but worldwide. It had a successful run for 15-25 weeks in theatres, particularly in the villages of Bihar and UP. The Mumbai journalists, who often write about our fates from their city, should acknowledge that the one who truly dictates fate is above all.”
This March, it was reported that Suneel Darshan is progressing on his upcoming project ‘Andaaz 2’, featuring debut actor Aayush Kumar.
Discussing his casting choice for Aayush, Suneel remarked, "I had developed the script for 'Andaaz 2' and completed the entire album's song recordings, awaiting final casting decisions. My casting director presented male artists for the roles of the protagonist’s friends, and among them was Aayush, who I felt was the perfect fit for the lead character Aarav. I trusted my instincts and cast him, marking the birth of the character Aarav Kumar. It took time for that realization to sink in, and the preparation phase began, with Aayush focusing on both physical training and dance, alongside script readings.”
In 'Andaaz 2', Aayush takes on the role of Aarav, a dedicated musician facing challenges in love, ambition, and personal conflicts. The film is set to deliver a captivating mix of romance, drama, and emotional richness—qualities synonymous with Suneel Darshan's cinematic style,” he added.
This movie is a sequel to the blockbuster ‘Andaaz’ and carries significant viewer expectations.
