Mysuru (Karnataka), July 12 (NationPress) Amid the ongoing leadership struggle, six-time Congress MLA Tanveer Sait has ignited a new debate by asserting that power is transient and change is unavoidable.
In a conversation with journalists in Mysuru, MLA Sait addressed inquiries regarding the power conflict in Karnataka, stating, “Power is not enduring for anyone. I have made this clear multiple times. While I might hope to live for a century, the future remains uncertain.”
“Thus, as long as Siddaramaiah continues as Chief Minister, he is our leader. We will observe what unfolds down the line,” he remarked.
When pressed about possible changes in state leadership, MLA Sait replied, “There is no rule against change. Change is necessary. After five years, it is expected to occur.”
On the topic of the power-sharing agreement, he said, “I lack information on any power-sharing plan or distribution of power. Regardless of the situation, we are dedicated to the decisions made by the party high command.”
Regarding CM Siddaramaiah’s ongoing declarations of his commitment to remaining Chief Minister, Sait expressed, “I will be content as long as the Chief Minister belongs to the Congress party.”
Addressing the leadership dispute, Tanveer Sait commented, “We cannot make any definitive statements. I have emphasized that following the public mandate and securing the necessary seats, it is our duty to ensure a stable, development-focused, and secure government.”
“This government came into power due to the party. It is not the other way around. Our party's existence is not reliant on this government,” he declared.
His remarks hold weight as MLA Tanveer Sait represents the Narasimharaja Assembly constituency in Mysuru, which is also the hometown of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. Tanveer Sait is the son of the well-known leader and former minister, the late Aziz Sait.
