Bengaluru, Nov 27 (NationPress) Amid the *ongoing leadership dispute* in Karnataka, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah declared on Thursday that the "mandate lasts five years".

This development comes as Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge announced early Thursday that he would call both CM Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar to Delhi to address the power-sharing issue within the state.

In a post on social media platform X on Thursday evening, CM Siddaramaiah stated, "The mandate given by the people of Karnataka is not a mere moment, but a commitment that extends for a full five years. The Congress party, including myself, is steadfastly committed to our people with compassion, consistency, and courage."

His statement was a direct response to a veiled message from Deputy Chief Minister Shivakumar earlier that day about "keeping one's word".

Siddaramaiah's post on X, titled "Our word to Karnataka is not just a slogan; it holds immense significance for us," further elaborated, "A word lacks power unless it brings improvement to the world."

Sources indicate that Siddaramaiah's post serves as both a counter to Shivakumar's comment and a reaffirmation of his own authority.

In his remarks, the Chief Minister emphasized, "A word carries no weight unless it enhances the lives of the people."

Pointing to the government's accomplishments, he proudly stated, "The Shakti scheme has provided over 600 crore free trips to the women of our state. From the first month of our government, we have translated our promises into action—*not merely in words, but in reality.*"

He highlighted several initiatives: "Shakti – Over 600 crore free trips, restoring dignity and mobility to working women. Gruha Lakshmi – Supporting 1.24 crore women-led households. Yuva Nidhi – Providing security and hope to over 3 lakh youth. Anna Bhagya 2.0 – Ensuring food security for 4.08 crore citizens. Gruha Jyoti – Offering free electricity to 1.64 crore families."

Reflecting on his previous term as Karnataka's CM, Siddaramaiah noted, "During my first term (2013–18), 157 of 165 promises were fulfilled, achieving over 95 percent delivery. In this current term, we have already completed 243 of the 593 promises, and every remaining commitment will be fulfilled with dedication, credibility, and care."

He reiterated, "Our word to Karnataka is not just a slogan; it embodies our dedication to the people."

Previously, Deputy CM Shivakumar had posted on X, "Word power is world power," asserting that "The greatest force in the world is to uphold one’s word. Whether it’s a judge, a President, or anyone—including myself—everyone must follow through on their commitments. Word power leads to world power."

However, Shivakumar later claimed his earlier post was *misrepresented*, labeling it as fake.
