Patna, Dec 3 (NationPress) A female educator was reportedly murdered by assailants on a motorcycle in the Araria district of Bihar on Wednesday, causing widespread panic.

The victim, Shivani Kumari (28), who worked at Middle School Khabadh Kanhaili, hailed from Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh.

The tragic event unfolded as Shivani was en route to her school in the village of Khabadh Kanhaili, located within the jurisdiction of the Narpatganj police station.

She was traveling from her rented accommodation in Forbesganj when two individuals on a motorbike halted her.

As per a police spokesperson, around a hundred meters from the school, adjacent to a Shiva temple, two masked men on a motorcycle blocked her scooter, compelled her to remove her helmet, and then shot her in the head at point-blank range. Shivani fell and died instantly.

Local residents rushed to assist upon noticing a commotion near the school.

Villagers Sudhir Yadav and Gaurav Kumar quickly transported her to Sadar Hospital in Araria, where medical staff pronounced her dead upon arrival.

Sudhir, who was engaged in wheat sowing at that moment, stated he headed to the school upon hearing the disturbance.

High-ranking police officials, including SP Anjani Kumar, Forbesganj SDPO Mukesh Kumar Sah, and members of the Narpatganj police, arrived at the scene to commence an investigation.

SP Anjani Kumar indicated that the case is being examined from all angles.

"An FIR has been filed against unidentified culprits. We are committed to apprehending the offenders promptly," he affirmed.

The motive behind the crime remains unclear.

Shivani had successfully cleared the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) teachers' recruitment examination two years prior and was residing in Forbesganj.

The district police collected her remains and forwarded them for a post-mortem examination.
