Bihar’s Sheikhpura: Teacher Murdered by Unidentified Gunmen

Patna, Dec 27 (NationPress) A government school instructor was brutally murdered by three unidentified gunmen in Bihar’s Sheikhpura district on Friday.

The victim, Pintu Rajak, was riding his motorcycle to school when he was halted by three unknown assailants near Basant village on the Sheikhpura-Chewara Road.

The shooters fired three rounds into his chest and abdomen. The teacher collapsed on the roadway. Initially, villagers rushed Pintu Rajak to a private hospital, but due to the critical nature of his wounds, he was subsequently transferred to Sadar Hospital in Sheikhpura, where he ultimately died from his injuries and significant blood loss.

Rajak, who resided in Hussainabad village under the Ariyari police station's jurisdiction, was working as a teacher in Gunhesa village.

“Last year, an objectionable video featuring Pintu Rajak appeared on social media, prompting departmental measures against him. This incident may have triggered the attack,” stated an official from the Sheikhpura police.

“The teacher suffered gunshot wounds after being assaulted by three criminals at Basantpur village. Upon receiving the alert, we arrived at the crime scene promptly. Unfortunately, he succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds and severe blood loss at Sadar Hospital,” reported Rakesh Kumar, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) in Sheikhpura.

“We have recovered the body and have sent it for a post-mortem examination. So far, the victim's family has not pointed fingers at anyone. An FIR has been registered under the pertinent murder laws, and searches are ongoing to apprehend the culprits,” Kumar added.

In a related incident, another private school teacher was shot dead in Saran on Friday morning. This event took place in Gopalpur within the Doriganj police station area. The deceased has been identified as Sanjit Kumar Rai, a 22-year-old son of the late Vakil Rai.

The shooting occurred between 4 and 5 a.m. while he was asleep in his home. The attackers shot him in the head through the window.

Upon learning of the incident, Doriganj police station in-charge Dilip Kumar and his team, along with Sadar Sub-Divisional Police Officer Rajkishore Singh, arrived at the location to conduct an investigation.
