Patna, May 28 (NationPress) A government school teacher was tragically shot dead by two unidentified assailants on a motorcycle in the Darbhanga district of Bihar early Wednesday morning, officials reported.
The victim, Mansoor Alam, was a resident of Teesi Parsauni village in Madhubani district and had dedicated 15 years of service as a primary teacher at Nasirganj Primary School located in the Singhwada block.
As per officials, Alam was riding his bicycle to school, a routine he followed daily, when he was ambushed by two men on a motorcycle near the Bharwada-Kamtaul road within the boundaries of the Singhwada police station.
The assailants shot him twice, targeting his head and shoulder, resulting in his immediate death at the scene, which occurred around 6 a.m., just 500 meters from the school.
On hearing the gunfire, local residents hurried to the location and notified the authorities.
Sadar SDPO Jyoti Kumari arrived with a police team, subsequently sending the body for a post-mortem examination at Sadar Hospital.
A forensic team was also dispatched to gather evidence from the crime scene.
"The investigation is actively ongoing to locate the perpetrators. The deceased suffered two gunshot wounds—one to the head and another to the shoulder,” stated SDPO Kumari.
The police have confirmed the involvement of two unidentified motorcycle riders in the attack.
Authorities have pledged to Alam’s family that the culprits will be caught soon.
“We are conducting a thorough investigation. The suspects will be identified and apprehended shortly. Justice will be served to the victim’s family,” assured Kumari.
Alam was residing in a rented space in Shankarpur village, roughly two kilometers from the school. His untimely demise has left his family in despair.
