Patna, Jan 29 (NationPress) A 37-year-old mobile phone seller was fatally shot by unknown gunmen in Bihar's Bhojpur district on Tuesday evening.

According to relatives, the shooting took place in Sohra village under the Krishnagarh police station jurisdiction when the victim, Sumit Singh, was on his way home.

Family members have accused the village Mukhiya (Village Head) and two of his sons of orchestrating the attack. They contend that a dispute between the victim and the accused may have led to this tragic event.

Sumit Singh, who lived in Hetampur village, owned a mobile shop located near Station Road Tribhuani Kothi. He was immediately taken to Sadar Hospital in Arrah, but unfortunately, he succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds.

Reports indicate that he suffered five gunshot wounds. Following the incident, his family protested at the hospital, demanding swift action against the Mukhiya and his sons.

Ranjit Kumar Singh, the Sadar SDPO-2, visited the hospital with police personnel to speak with the victim's family and gather more information. “The family has accused the Mukhiya and his sons. They reported a previous conflict with them. We are conducting searches to apprehend those responsible,” stated Ranjit Kumar Singh.

The police have promised the family a comprehensive investigation and appropriate legal measures against the offenders.

In a separate incident, a government school teacher, Lalan Manjhi, was shot at by unidentified individuals on the same evening. This incident occurred near Patlu Hata village within the jurisdiction of Jamo police station in Siwan district.

The teacher was on his way home when the attack happened. After the shooting, local villagers quickly came to his assistance and rushed him to Siwan’s Sadar Hospital. Due to his critical condition, doctors referred him to Patna for more advanced care.

The victim, who teaches at the Government Middle School in Madhavpur, was previously targeted, as confirmed by police.

“A teacher has been injured in this shooting incident, and we are exploring every angle in our investigation. We are working to identify the attackers,” remarked Abhinandan Kumar, the officer in charge of Jamo police station.

This incident has sparked widespread fear in the area, with residents calling for a thorough investigation to deliver justice for the victim.
