Patna, Jan 27 (NationPress) In light of the increasing incidents of violence against women in Bihar, RJD National Working President Tejashwi Yadav has fiercely criticized the Nitish Kumar-led NDA administration, casting doubt on its integrity and effectiveness.

Taking to X, Tejashwi Yadav expressed outrage over a recent occurrence in Gopalganj, where a one-and-a-half-year-old girl was reportedly subjected to sexual assault.

He remarked, “Now, a one-and-a-half-year-old girl has been assaulted again in Gopalganj. Girls in Bihar are completely unsafe under the NDA rule.”

Characterizing the situation as a crisis for the state, Tejashwi articulated that the ongoing occurrences of crime, allegedly shielded by those in authority, are “unbearable, painful, frightening and chilling.”

He further accused the NDA government of attaining power through deceit and manipulation, urging it to cease targeting the opposition and instead prioritize law enforcement, education, healthcare, and public safety.

“Wake up, government that came to power through manipulation. Eliminate these criminal monsters and save the lives of our daughters,” he implored.

This criticism follows a distressing incident reported on Monday in Gopalganj, where a one-and-a-half-year-old girl, who was playing near her home, allegedly fell victim to a sexual assault.

According to law enforcement, the suspect, identified as Mohammad Sarik, a painter from Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh, exploited the deserted environment to target the child.

Upon hearing the child's cries, local residents rushed to the scene and apprehended the suspect while he attempted to escape.

The situation escalated, necessitating police involvement to avert mob violence.

The Dial-112 unit arrived promptly and took the suspect into custody.

Sadar SDPO Pranjal confirmed that the case is being handled with the utmost seriousness.

“We have collected scientific evidence with the assistance of the FSL team. The investigation is moving swiftly, and a charge sheet will be submitted soon to ensure the harshest possible punishment,” he stated.

Nonetheless, the accused continues to deny the charges.

Alarmingly, this marks the second significant criminal incident reported within the same police jurisdiction in just 24 hours, igniting considerable frustration among residents regarding police patrolling and effectiveness.

The condition of the injured child remains critical, and she is receiving treatment in the emergency ward of Sadar Hospital.

The entire district is united in praying for her recovery and justice.

The ongoing incidents of violence against women and girls have heightened political tensions in Bihar.

The mysterious death of a NEET aspirant from Jehanabad in Patna has already sparked statewide uproar, with opposition parties accusing the government of protecting perpetrators due to delays in the investigation.

With scrutiny mounting over law enforcement and governance, attention is now focused on the SIT report concerning the NEET student case, as public outrage and political pressures continue to escalate.

Point of View

It’s vital to recognize the gravity of the situation in Bihar. The increasing violence against women is a critical issue that demands immediate government action. Political leaders must prioritize public safety and accountability to restore trust in governance and ensure justice for victims.
