Hyderabad, Feb 17 (NationPress) The Working President of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), K. T. Rama Rao, remarked on Monday that the citizens of Telangana desire to see BRS President K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) serve as the chief minister once more.
This statement was made by Rama Rao during a gathering of BRS members at the party's headquarters, Telangana Bhavan, commemorating KCR’s 71st birthday.
In celebration of the former chief minister’s birthday, Rama Rao along with other BRS leaders sliced a massive cake weighing 71 kg.
“The public wants KCR back as chief minister. We must put in the effort to ensure this happens,” he urged the party members.
“KCR is a hero for Telangana. During the movement, he faced numerous challenges without any media support. He persevered against all odds, even risking his life for the establishment of Telangana,” he added.
Rama Rao had previously expressed on ‘X’ how fortunate he feels to be KCR’s son.
“I consider myself blessed that my father is not just mine, but the Hero of Telangana. His journey embodies what it means to dream and pursue it with unwavering dedication, overcoming skeptics, and demonstrating how to love and fight for Telangana, achieving it selflessly,” he shared.
“My only aspiration is to be a fraction of what you are! My goal is to earn the pride of being your son! I promise to dedicate every moment of my life to honor this struggle, this state, and this legacy! Thank you for your inspiring life! Happy birthday Dad,” he posted.
BRS senior leader and former minister T. Harish Rao mentioned that the people statewide wish to see the ‘car party’ (BRS) in power again. “If you visit any street in Telangana, you will hear people say KCR should be the chief minister again,” he stated.
Harish Rao, KCR’s nephew, recounted his emotional response upon witnessing KCR during his hunger strike for Telangana statehood.
“KCR endured an 11-day fast, appearing frail and shaky, yet he persevered,” Harish Rao recounted.
