Hyderabad, Oct 23 (NationPress) Police have detained three individuals in relation to the assault on a gaurakshak on the periphery of Hyderabad.
Sonu Singh, also known as Prashant, sustained injuries when one of the assailants shot at him in the Pocharam IT corridor under the jurisdiction of Rachakonda Police Commissionerate on Wednesday evening.
The Rachakonda police apprehended Ibrahim, identified as the primary perpetrator, along with Masin and Srinivas. Law enforcement is actively searching for another suspect, Haneef Qureshi.
Ibrahim reportedly blocked Sonu Singh's vehicle near Yamnampalli. Following a dispute, Ibrahim purportedly discharged two rounds from his firearm, injuring Sonu Singh. The assailants fled the scene post-attack.
Authorities swiftly arrived at the location and transported the injured party to a local medical facility. He was subsequently moved to a private hospital in Secunderabad. Medical staff successfully extracted the bullet from his body, and he is currently reported to be out of danger.
This attack is believed to be connected to cattle transportation. The suspects allegedly conspired to assault Sonu Singh due to his role in informing certain organizations about the transit of vehicles carrying cattle, which were known to liberate the animals.
Union Minister for Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy, Telangana BJP president Ramchander Rao, and MP Eatala Rajender visited the hospital.
They sought updates from the medical team regarding his condition and the treatment provided.
BJP leaders asserted that Sonu Singh is a gaurakshak who was targeted by MIM leaders after he intervened to prevent them from transporting cows.
"The rowdyism exhibited by MIM, under Congress's patronage, is utterly disgraceful and should be condemned. Such overtly violent incidents in Hyderabad’s capital reveal a profound breakdown of law and order, instilling fear among the populace," tweeted Kishan Reddy on ‘X’.
Ramchander Rao indicated that these "communal attacks" illustrate a total failure of the law-and-order framework in the state.
"I urge the government to swiftly arrest the offenders and impose severe penalties. Should the government fail to ensure the safety of Hindus, it will forfeit its moral authority to remain in power," Ramchander Rao stated.
He lamented that an attack occurred against someone striving for peace. "The BJP will not tolerate such violent behavior. I demand that the government take immediate and stringent action against the perpetrators," he added.
