Bhubaneswar, June 4 (NationPress) Tragically, five patients lost their lives at the government-operated Saheed Laxman Nayak Medical College and Hospital (SLNMCH) in Koraput, Odisha, after receiving a “wrong injection”.
An investigation has been initiated to look into the circumstances surrounding this incident.
Reports indicate that patients from various regions, including Koraput, Borigumma, Kalahandi, Semiliguda, and Machhara, were receiving care in the ICU and general surgery wards.
Tragically, five critically ill patients passed away one after the other shortly after 11 p.m. on Tuesday.
Distressed family members of the patients caused a commotion at the hospital, alleging that their loved ones died due to the administration of incorrect injections.
They asserted that their patients were in stable condition post-operation.
As tensions escalated within the hospital, police were dispatched to maintain order.
The bodies will be released to their families following autopsy procedures.
“We brought the patient in for treatment on Tuesday afternoon. After the surgery, the hospital staff informed us that the patient would be in the ICU for close monitoring.
