The accident took place near Basgada Chowk, within the jurisdiction of Korha Police Station, on National Highway 31, where a bus and a pickup vehicle collided head-on, resulting in significant casualties.
According to witnesses, the bus was traveling at a high speed when it collided directly with the pickup van.
The collision was so severe that both vehicles were left in ruins.
The injured were swiftly transported to nearby medical institutions, including Sadar Hospital in Katihar, for urgent care.
This heartbreaking incident has cast a shadow of mourning over the area, once again underscoring the critical need for enhanced road safety measures to avert such tragedies.
