The car was traveling towards the Saptashrungi Mata temple when the driver reportedly lost control while trying to overtake near the Bhavari waterfall, an area notorious for its winding roads and narrow paths.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has conveyed his sorrow over the tragic accident.
