Agra, June 18 (NationPress) Tragically, eleven individuals lost their lives and numerous others were injured in three distinct road mishaps in Agra and Bulandshahr on Wednesday, as reported by police authorities.
The initial incident involved a vehicle loaded with mangoes that overturned near the Shahdara flyover in the Thana Trans area, resulting in the deaths of four individuals and leaving one injured.
As per ACP Hemant Kumar, the Max vehicle lost control and collided with a divider before flipping over.
Three morning walkers situated on the divider were crushed beneath the vehicle. The driver and his assistant, inside the Max, also suffered severe injuries.
Witnesses believe that the driver may have fallen asleep while driving.
Local residents rushed to the scene to assist, and a crowd gathered. Authorities utilized a crane to extricate those trapped inside. The injured were taken to a hospital for urgent medical care.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed his condolences to the bereaved families and instructed officials to ensure appropriate medical treatment for the injured, wishing them a swift recovery.
In another tragic road incident early Wednesday, five family members were burned alive, and one woman sustained critical injuries in the Jahangirabad police station area of Bulandshahr district.
This accident transpired near Janipur village on the Jahangirabad-Bulandshahr road when a Swift car lost control, crashed into a roadside culvert, and ignited.
According to police, this occurred around 5:30 a.m. on Wednesday, as the six people in the car were returning to Delhi from a wedding ceremony in Chamanpur, situated in the Sahaswan police station area of Badaun district.
Initial investigations indicate that the driver may have dozed off, leading to the vehicle veering off course and colliding with the culvert. The force of the impact was so intense that the car overturned and quickly caught fire, engulfing it almost instantly.
In a separate incident near the Fatehabad toll plaza on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway, a speeding bus collided with a slow-moving truck laden with stones, resulting in two fatalities and injuring 15 to 16 passengers.
