Governor S. K. T. Rama Rao, working president of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), acknowledged Narasimha Rao as the architect of modern India and a cherished figure from Telangana, embodying pride for the nation.
He stated, "As Prime Minister, economist, statesman, reformer, and polyglot, the contributions of Bharat Ratna P. V. Narasimha Rao are unforgettable. The economic reforms he initiated laid the foundation for modern India, marking a historic milestone," Rama Rao shared on 'X'.
He recalled that the BRS government, after the establishment of Telangana, properly commemorated Narasimha Rao.
The former minister highlighted that under the KCR administration, Narasimha Rao's centenary was celebrated lavishly, with Necklace Road and the Veterinary University being named in his honor, along with the erection of his statue.
The Telangana government has formally requested the central government to honor Narasimha Rao with the Bharat Ratna. They have also recognized his daughter by appointing her as a Member of the Legislative Council.
Union Minister for Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy paid floral tributes at PV Gyan Bhoomi in Hyderabad, honoring Narasimha Rao and reflecting on his contributions as Chief Minister of united Andhra Pradesh, as a Central minister, and as Prime Minister.
Ramchander Rao, president of Telangana BJP, along with Narasimha Rao's grandson, N. V. Subhash, and other leaders, also paid their respects at PV Gyan Bhoomi.
