Kolkata, Nov 14 (NationPress) Following the decisive victory of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in neighboring Bihar, the Trinamool Congress took to social media with a distinctive animated video. This video envisions a potential future for West Bengal should the BJP gain power in the upcoming 2026 Assembly elections.
The animated clip features a young narrator who illustrates a fictional scenario of a stifling environment under a BJP-led West Bengal.
In the video, the narrator asserts that a poor decision made at the voting machine has led to a dire situation for the citizens of West Bengal.
The young narrator suggests that under BJP governance, even a romantic relationship between a boy and a girl would require approval from the ruling party.
"A BJP regime will lead to widespread animosity, diminished safety for women in public spaces, and relentless scrutiny of ordinary citizens' social media accounts," the narrator claims in the video.
"Keep the nightmare called BJP away from your lives. Do not let this nightmare become a reality," he urges.
The media cell of Trinamool Congress indicated that this is merely the first installment of a series, with subsequent episodes to follow soon.
The BJP leadership in West Bengal responded by stating that the animated video reflects the Trinamool Congress's panic in light of the Bihar election results and the ongoing special intensive revision by the Election Commission of India in the state.
According to Agnimitra Paul, a fashion designer turned BJP legislator, "The Trinamool Congress is aware that the electorate will reject them in 2026, which is why they are resorting to such misleading social media tactics. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will face a fate similar to that of Rahul Gandhi in Bihar. The people of West Bengal desire genuine progress and an end to the corrupt governance."
