Agartala, Dec 11 (NationPress) In a strong statement, Tripura's Chief Minister Manik Saha warned on Thursday about certain CPI(M)-backed individuals infiltrating local political parties to incite unrest and tarnish the reputation of the state, especially as they witness a decline in their political influence.
During an address at Sutarmura in the Sepahijala district, CM Saha mentioned that both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP President J.P. Nadda are closely monitoring developments in Tripura, with a list of those causing disturbances being compiled.
"Our focus is on maintaining peace in Tripura, a state renowned for its tranquility. Yet, some individuals are attempting to disturb this peace and bring shame upon us. They are becoming irrelevant. They claimed that without their candidate in 2023, the BJP wouldn’t secure power. But where were they in 2018? The BJP formed the government then due to PM Modi's support," stated CM Saha.
He issued a warning to these disruptive elements, urging them to respect human rights and reconsider their alignment, suggesting they join the BJP instead of continuing on a misguided path.
The Chief Minister further accused vested interests of misleading the janajati (tribal) communities, despite numerous welfare initiatives from both the central and state governments aimed at benefiting them.
Recalling the 2021 TTAADC (Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council) elections, CM Saha remarked that BJP workers had faced attacks, emphasizing that such actions will no longer be tolerated.
"There is no room for such behavior anymore. We will enforce strict legal measures. Our stance is against such politics, and the people of Tripura prioritize peace," he added.
He cautioned local political parties that individuals supported by the CPI(M) are infiltrating their ranks to incite chaos.
"We adhere to alliance protocols and are channeling significant funds to the TTAADC. No one can foster unity through communal strife or intimidation. We are prepared to take every necessary action to uphold peace," he concluded.
Present at the event were State BJP General Secretary Bipin Debbarma, State Party Secretary Devid Debbarma, former President of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha Nabadal Banik, and others.
