Hyderabad, Nov 19 (NationPress) Union Minister of State for Home Bandi Sanjay Kumar stated that while Naxalites are perishing in the forests, their urban counterparts are thriving in their positions and amassing wealth. He emphasized that those urban Naxals who have incited innocent Dalit, tribal, and Adivasi individuals to become Naxalites should also bear responsibility for these deaths.
During a media briefing at Huzurabad in Telangana, he pointed out that urban Naxalites are not only surviving but are also acquiring significant assets while holding onto government-appointed roles and commissions.
Without naming specific individuals, he questioned the rationale behind urban Naxalites, who claim to oppose the government's anti-people policies, maintaining their positions within the Congress government.
“Urban Naxals assert they resist anti-people policies. If that is genuinely the case, why are they still occupying nominated and commission posts under the Congress administration?” he queried, alleging that the Congress has failed to deliver on major promises.
He highlighted unfulfilled commitments such as Rs 2,500 for women and Rs 4,000 pensions, questioning why urban Naxals have not initiated protests.
“Anyone supporting violence or glorifying Naxal ideology is equally culpable. It is our firm stance that, irrespective of being in power or not, the BJP will always oppose Maoism,” he asserted.
Bandi Sanjay Kumar remarked that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India has risen to become the world's fourth-largest economy, a fact acknowledged by global leaders, even if ignored by urban Naxals.
“The primary instigators behind the provocation of innocent children and the sacrifice of their lives are urban Naxals. What will they say to the families of the deceased today? Can these urban Naxals not comprehend the anguish of parents who lose their children and the sorrow of wives mourning their husbands?” he questioned.
He insisted that he will stand by his statements regarding urban Naxals, asserting that those inciting violence through media and social platforms should be held accountable for the deaths of Maoists.
“Whoever endorses Naxalism is also a criminal. As Maoists abandon arms to reintegrate into society, can we remain passive if urban Naxals resort to violence and join the Maoists?” he asked.
The Minister expressed confidence that Union Home Minister Amit Shah is committed to eradicating Maoism by March.
He urged all Naxalites to surrender, assuring them of full support from the Central and state governments for their rehabilitation.
