Dehradun, March 22 (NationPress) In the wake of a recent cabinet expansion, the Uttarakhand government has officially assigned portfolios to its ministers, as outlined in a government notification that specifies the distribution of duties among the Council of Ministers. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami continues to oversee a broad spectrum of essential departments.
The directive, released by the state Secretariat Administration Department, indicated that the portfolio assignments were sanctioned by the Governor upon the Chief Minister's recommendations, aligning with constitutional mandates.
Chief Minister Dhami will manage several pivotal departments including Personnel, Vigilance, Secretariat Administration, Information, Home, Justice, Planning, Revenue, Industrial Development, Labour, Employment and Skill Development, Excise, Energy, including Renewable Energy, Finance, Taxation, Disaster Management and Rehabilitation, as well as Civil Aviation. Additionally, he will oversee departments related to protocol, administrative reforms, and miscellaneous subjects not specifically assigned to other ministers.
Senior Cabinet minister Satpal Maharaj has been designated to manage the Public Works Department (PWD), Tourism, Irrigation and Flood Control, and Culture.
Subodh Uniyal will take charge of Forest, Environment and Climate Change, Technical Education, Language, as well as matters related to elections.
Dhan Singh Rawat is assigned to oversee School Education, Higher Education, Health and Medical Education, placing him at the helm of critical sectors concerning education and healthcare in the state.
Ganesh Joshi has been allocated responsibilities for Agriculture, Farmers’ Welfare, Horticulture, and Agricultural Marketing.
Premchand Aggarwal will manage Urban Development, Housing, and Parliamentary Affairs.
Rekha Arya has been tasked with overseeing Women's Empowerment and Child Development, alongside programs related to Social Welfare.
Chandan Ram Dass will be responsible for Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Affairs.
Saurabh Bahuguna has been assigned to Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development, and Fisheries.
Officials have remarked that this portfolio allocation aims to enhance administrative coordination and promote effective governance across various departments.
