Mumbai, Oct 21 (NationPress) Following the Diwali festivities, actress Vaani Kapoor, currently in the capital city, has expressed her worries regarding the deteriorating air quality in New Delhi. She hopes that next year, we can find a way to celebrate “without compromising the air we breathe.”

Vaani shared her concerns on Instagram, revealing that she woke up to a staggering AQI of 447 in New Delhi.

She commented: “Woke up to Delhi's AQI hitting 447, one of the highest globally today. Perhaps next year, we can discover a way to celebrate without compromising the air we breathe.”

Earlier this year, Vaani made her OTT debut with Mandala Murders, adapted from the novel The Butcher of Benares. Set in the fictional town of Charandaspur, Uttar Pradesh, it combines elements of mystery, supernatural horror, and psychological thriller.

The series follows detectives Rea Thomas and Vikram Singh as they delve into ritualistic murders associated with a clandestine cult, the Aayastis, and a legendary entity known as Yast. It navigates themes of faith versus science and love versus sacrifice, merging modern police procedural with occult traditions.

The cast also includes Vaibhav Raj Gupta, Surveen Chawla, Raghubir Yadav, and Shriya Pilgaonkar.

Vaani's next project is Badtameez Gill, directed by Navjot Gulati, featuring Aparshakti Khurana, Paresh Rawal, Sheeba Chaddha, Richard Bhakti Klein, and Monica Chaudhary.

The 37-year-old star made her Bollywood debut in the 2013 film Shuddh Desi Romance alongside Sushant Singh Rajput and Parineeti Chopra.

She later appeared in the Tamil remake Aaha Kalyanam opposite Nani, for which she learned Tamil, although it was a box-office disappointment.

In 2016, Vaani featured in Befikre opposite Ranveer Singh, set in Paris, but despite its lively backdrop, the film struggled at the box office. After a brief hiatus, she bounced back with War in 2019, starring alongside Hrithik Roshan.

She then collaborated with Akshay Kumar in the 2021 film Bell Bottom, inspired by real-life hijacking incidents in India by Khalistani militants during the 1980s, including the Indian Airlines Flight 423, 405, and 421 hijackings.

Vaani also starred in Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui, where she portrayed a transgender woman.

Her upcoming film, Shamshera, features Ranbir Kapoor. After a brief break, she appeared in Khel Khel Mein, an ensemble comedy, and in 2025, she will star alongside Ajay Devgn in Raid 2, marking her first box-office success since War.
