Sidhi, April 14 (NationPress) A confrontation during an Ambedkar Jayanti celebration in Madhya Pradesh's Sidhi district on Tuesday spiraled into violence, resulting in injuries to at least 14 individuals, including family members and police personnel.
Reports indicate that the conflict originated from the removal of a Bolero vehicle parked along the route of the procession in Amiliya town, which sparked intense arguments.
This disagreement quickly escalated into a physical altercation between two factions. Participants of the Ambedkar Jayanti procession reportedly vandalized the vehicle, further intensifying the violence in the area.
Amidst the chaos, approximately 50 masked individuals reportedly invaded the residence of Mani Shukla (22) and assaulted the family members. Stones were thrown, and the residents faced physical attacks.
Mani Shukla suffered severe injuries, along with Ramakant Shukla (80), Archana Shukla (40), and Divyansh Shukla (22). Two individuals also sustained head injuries during the incident.
Subsequently, a crowd of nearly 200 individuals stormed the Amiliya police station, damaging property and hurling stones within the premises.
The station's administrative office and investigation room were affected as well. Station In-charge Rakesh Bes and his team endeavored to manage the situation, during which constables Ramcharitra Pandey and Satish Tiwari sustained injuries, according to police reports.
Senior officials, including District Collector Vikas Mishra, arrived at the scene to oversee the situation.
He reported that out of the 14 injured, eight have been released after treatment, while six continue to receive medical care.
Additionally, the police have filed a First Information Report related to the incident and initiated an investigation.

"The situation is now entirely under control. A flag march has been conducted, and ongoing dialogue is being held with residents to ensure peace," Mishra stated in an interview with IANS.
