Washington, Jan 6 (NationPress) Republican gubernatorial candidate Vivek Ramaswamy amassed $9.88 million in fundraising during the latter half of 2025, according to his campaign, achieving a record-breaking milestone for an Ohio governor’s election.
The campaign highlighted that the July-December total exceeded the $9.7 million collected in the initial two quarters of the year, establishing the strongest single reporting period performance by any gubernatorial candidate in Ohio. Notably, the figures do not account for any personal contributions from Ramaswamy himself.
“This level of backing is unprecedented in an Ohio gubernatorial contest,” stated Jonathan Ewing, campaign manager for Vivek Ramaswamy for Ohio. “With $9.88 million raised in a single reporting period and nearly $20 million over the year leading to the election, it sends a clear message: Vivek’s campaign possesses a historic momentum that is unparalleled by any other contender.”
The campaign asserts that Ramaswamy raised over $19.57 million in 2025, more than doubling the previous Ohio gubernatorial fundraising record of $8.4 million set by then-candidate Mike DeWine in 2017.
Since the commencement of his campaign in late February 2025, Ramaswamy has conducted 112 campaign events that included fundraising elements. The earlier reported $9.7 million raised in 2025 was sourced from 40,000 unique donors, and the $9.88 million in the latter half of the year similarly reflects contributions solely from supporters.
The campaign also emphasizes that Ramaswamy’s initial fundraising has already surpassed the total campaign receipts of various previous Ohio gubernatorial candidates. In just his first two filings, Ramaswamy raised more than the total campaign amounts of Republican John Kasich in both 2010 and 2014, Republican Mike DeWine in 2022, and Democrat Richard Cordray in 2018.
Campaign officials highlight endorsements as a sign of political momentum. Since receiving the endorsement from President Donald Trump on the first day of his campaign, Ramaswamy has garnered support from conservative lawmakers, community leaders, law enforcement officials, business leaders, and labor groups in Ohio that have traditionally backed Democrats.
The campaign believes the current fundraising trajectory positions Ramaswamy to eclipse DeWine’s total fundraising record of $24 million from the 2018 gubernatorial race.
The details of the campaign’s 2025 semiannual finance report, covering activities from July 1 through December 31, 2025, are expected to be submitted to the Ohio secretary of state by January 31, 2026.
The 2026 election will determine the successor to term-limited Republican Governor Mike DeWine. If elected, Ramaswamy would become the third Indian American Governor, following Bobby Jindal and Nikki Haley.
