Washington, Jan 24 (NationPress) Referencing the most recent daily immigration enforcement report from the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), the White House disclosed early Friday morning, India time, that more than 500 illegal migrants have been apprehended and hundreds of criminal illegal immigrants deported "via military aircraft" in a significant ongoing initiative aimed at combating undocumented immigration in the nation.
"Today: The Trump Administration detained 538 illegal immigrant criminals, including a suspected terrorist, four members of the Tren de Aragua gang, and several individuals convicted of sex crimes against minors. The Trump Administration also deported hundreds of criminal illegal immigrants using military aircraft. This represents the largest deportation operation in history, with promises made and promises fulfilled," stated White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt on X.
Providing examples of the criminals apprehended, ICE reported that authorities in Buffalo arrested Luis Alberto Espinoza-Boconsaca, who has a conviction for rape, on Thursday.
The enforcement agency further noted in a series of posts: "On January 23rd, 2025, ICE Buffalo apprehended Pedro Julio Mejia, convicted of sexual conduct against a child. On January 23rd, 2025, ICE St. Paul detained Cristofer Alexander Ramirez-Olivia, convicted of 3rd degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor. On January 23rd, 2025, ICE Denver arrested Magdaleno Zenen Hernandez Garcia, convicted of continuous sexual abuse of a child aged 14 or younger."
The White House emphasized that this is just a "small preview" of the efforts the Trump administration is undertaking to safeguard the nation's borders.
In an Executive Order signed immediately upon taking office on January 20, US President Donald Trump highlighted that the previous administration had "invited, administered, and overseen" an unprecedented surge of illegal immigration into the United States over the last four years.
"Millions of illegal aliens crossed our borders or were allowed to fly directly into the United States on commercial flights and permitted to settle in American communities, violating longstanding Federal laws," it stated.
"Many of these aliens unlawfully present in the United States pose significant threats to national security and public safety, committing heinous acts against innocent Americans. Others are involved in hostile activities, including espionage, economic espionage, and preparations for terror-related activities," the order declared.
On January 22, ICE had apprehended four Bangladeshi nationals in New York, marking one of the initial actions in the new phase of intensified immigration enforcement. Bangladeshi media reported that the arrests occurred in the Brooklyn borough, as numerous undocumented Bangladeshi immigrants currently live in fear of deportation.
