Harare, Jan 2 (NationPress) Zimbabwe Cricket has officially revealed a 15-man squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, which is set to be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka from February 7 to March 8. The experienced all-rounder Sikandar Raza will take on the role of captain, aiming to guide Zimbabwe to a notable performance on the world stage.

The selection reflects a commitment to continuity, with the return of fit-again fast bowler Blessing Muzarabani being the sole change from the squad that participated in the T20I triangular series in Pakistan last November, which also included Sri Lanka. Muzarabani will lead the pace attack, joined by left-arm seamer Richard Ngarava, while Bradley Evans and Tinotenda Maposa will provide additional options within Zimbabwe’s seam-bowling arsenal.

The spin unit is fortified with experience, as veteran Graeme Cremer earns a recall to team up with Wellington Masakadza. The batting lineup showcases a mix of youthful talent and seasoned players.

Emerging batsmen Brian Bennett and Tadiwanashe Marumani are poised to leave their mark on cricket's grandest platform, while wicketkeeper-batter Brendan Taylor brings invaluable experience and steadiness to the top order.

All-rounder Ryan Burl contributes to the team's balance with his explosive hitting and leg-spin, complemented by Tashinga Musekiwa, Clive Madande, Tony Munyonga, and Dion Myers, who complete a dynamic and well-rounded squad.

Zimbabwe finds itself in Group B, facing Australia, Ireland, Oman, and co-hosts Sri Lanka. The top two teams from this group will progress to the Super Eight stage of the tournament.

Zimbabwe will commence their T20 World Cup journey against Oman at the Sinhalese Sports Club Ground in Colombo on February 9, followed by a significant match against Australia at the R. Premadasa Stadium on February 13.

Next, they will head to Kandy to take on Ireland at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium on February 17, before returning to Colombo to wrap up their group stage against Sri Lanka at the R. Premadasa Stadium on February 19.
