These grievances were from various Departments under the Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Posts, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, and the Ministry of Civil Aviation, among others.
The 15th Pension Adalat took place at the Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA) on December 24, where 815 grievances were successfully resolved on-site, demonstrating the effectiveness of this initiative in providing prompt justice to pensioners, as stated by the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions.
For instance, “Satyam Mishra from Prayagraj had a grievance pending for over 114 days regarding the non-release of pensionary benefits linked to Extra Ordinary Pension since July 2024.” He attended the Adalat virtually to express his concerns. The BSF officers informed during the session that after necessary processing, his case was resolved, and he received arrears totaling Rs 5,73,728, including Ex-gratia payments,” the ministry reported.
“It was also communicated that his Extra Ordinary Pension would commence from 01.12.2025,” it added.
Another pensioner, Nasim Akhtar from Srinagar, had a grievance pending for over 150 days concerning a delay in settling a family pension case that has been unresolved since August 2020.
He participated in the Adalat via video conference. The case was related to the Department of Census Operations, and it was confirmed by CC(P), CPAO that the authority has been issued as of 24.12.2025, ensuring that the arrears will be processed without further delay, as reported by the ministry.
Mukta Chakraborty from Guwahati, Assam, also had her grievance pending for more than 150 days.
“Her request was for the grant of a family pension for the unmarried daughter of the late Shri Rajat Bhusan Chakraborty, which has been pending since October 2020. She also joined the Adalat through video conferencing. Despite submitting her claim on 12.05.2023 and lodging a CPGRAMS grievance, the case remained unresolved. Both PAO-CBDT and CPAO have been urged to review the case within ten days and ensure timely resolution,” the ministry further detailed.
