2025 is Set to Be Another Transformative Year for Air India: CEO Campbell Wilson

New Delhi, Dec 27 (NationPress) The upcoming year promises to be another transformative period for Air India, as we aim to elevate the national carrier to even greater heights, stated Campbell Wilson, CEO and Managing Director of Air India, on Friday.

In his post, he highlighted that 2024 was a pivotal year for Air India and the Indian aviation sector in various aspects.

Wilson noted that 2025 will witness advancements in several key initiatives, including the refurbishment of widebody and remaining narrowbody aircraft with modern seating and enhanced services, thereby further improving Air India’s service standards and consistently meeting rising customer expectations.

“We will also enhance and refine our practices and processes to ensure that we are not only consistent but also efficient and ultimately profitable,” the Air India CEO remarked.

2024 marked the achievement of significant milestones in the airline’s transformation journey.

“Key among these were the successful completion of our two major mergers: Air India Express with Air Asia India and Air India with Vistara, accomplished in record time, positioning us as the fourth largest business by revenue within the Tata Group,” Wilson wrote.

Together, 30,000 employees of Air India now operate 300 aircraft across both brands, serving over 60 million customers annually to more than 100 destinations domestically and internationally.

“We introduced India’s first A350 aircraft into operation, expanded our already substantial order book by another 100 aircraft, launched our new Training Academy in Gurugram, initiated construction of a new maintenance base in Bengaluru, and committed to establishing a new 34-aircraft Flight School in Amravati,” emphasized the Air India CEO.

The airline revamped its websites, unveiled new uniforms, improved inflight serviceware, enhanced catering options, and began receiving notable external awards for our service quality, technology, and entertainment systems.

“Our frequent flyer program underwent a complete overhaul and was rebranded, while new revenue management systems and fare families were implemented across both Air India and Air India Express, alongside the inauguration of updated customer call centers,” he noted.

Air India also restructured its network to ensure that the most suitable aircraft serve key routes, including major domestic and international destinations like London Heathrow and New York.

“We added 100 more aircraft to our already extensive order book and successfully transitioned to our Vatika campus, which now accommodates approximately 4,000 employees from various airlines and backgrounds,” Wilson stated.

“In 2025, we will work diligently with you to embed these improvements deeply into our organizational DNA,” he concluded.
