Bengaluru, March 12 (NationPress) Approximately 92% of Indian professionals concur that artificial intelligence (AI) will enhance both the speed and quality of their work, according to a recently released report.

The study by Atlassian, a leader in team collaboration and productivity solutions, provides significant insights into AI adoption, information management, and teamwork dynamics in India.

About 87% of surveyed professionals feel that AI assists them in being better teammates, while 91% believe that leveraging AI can aid them in more effectively discovering and managing information.

This report, which collected responses from 12,000 knowledge workers across six regions (India, US, Australia, France, Germany, UK) and 200 executives from Fortune 500 companies, underscores the critical necessity for teams to connect and organize information efficiently.

On a global scale, around 27% of the workweek is lost annually in the Fortune 500 due to information retrieval challenges. Employees report that the difficulty in finding information impedes their ability to act swiftly, with more than 17 hours each week spent seeking information.

A notable 61% of Indian workers indicated that their teams sometimes unknowingly duplicate efforts, resulting in redundancy. These issues are aggravated by a lack of clarity in goals, with 90% of respondents agreeing that clearer goals and strategies would facilitate better support for the business.

More than 50% of employees believe they could accelerate their work if their colleagues utilized AI more frequently, while 70% agree that various functions within their organization (such as marketing, sales, engineering, and product) largely work in isolation.

“Team silos obstruct collaboration, create inefficiencies, and diminish opportunities. Without alignment, it becomes challenging to meet objectives and adapt to market shifts. Integrating AI and connecting information is crucial: organized data allows AI to disclose essential insights, helping teams to access what they need promptly,” stated Dr. Molly Sands, Head of Teamwork Lab at Atlassian.

“The future of work is upon us, but to fully harness AI, businesses must invest in the necessary tools and training to enhance productivity, collaboration, and innovation,” Sands remarked.

To tackle these challenges, the report advocates a three-pronged strategy: aligning work to objectives; collaboratively planning and tracking tasks; and unlocking collective knowledge.
