Adani Krishnapatnam Port Receives Government Approval for Petroleum Imports Until March 1, 2026

New Delhi, Dec 9 (NationPress) The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways has granted an extension to the Adani Group’s Krishnapatnam Port in Andhra Pradesh for the importation of petroleum via maritime routes until March 1, 2026.
The official government directive specifies that the Central Government, “in light of the necessity to import petroleum in the public interest, hereby extends the notification for Krishnapatnam Port (Adani Krishnapatnam Port Ltd) in Andhra Pradesh for importing petroleum into India by sea, in accordance with operations permitted in the Navigational Safety at Ports Committee certificate, for the period from August 25, 2024 to March 1, 2026.”
On Monday, shares of Adani Ports and Special Economic Zones (APSEZ) surged by over 1 percent following the confirmation of the company's ability to continue petroleum imports until 2026.
Earlier in August, Adani Krishnapatnam Port introduced a state-of-the-art cargo handling system aimed at improving its current capacity and productivity.
This innovative system is designed to optimize the management of both containerized and bulk cargo, promising to transform cargo operations at the port and enhance efficiency and reliability, as stated by the private port operator, Adani Group.
