Key Takeaways
New Delhi, Feb 16 (NationPress) Artificial Intelligence (AI) models are advancing at an extraordinary rate, and the industry anticipates a remarkable surge in growth over the coming three years, stated Puneet Chandok, President of Microsoft India and South Asia, on Monday.
During the session titled “AI for Disaster Management: Anticipatory, Hyperlocal, Scalable” at the AI Impact Summit 2026 held here, Chandok emphasized the rapid evolution of AI technology, evident from its developments in recent months.
“The models available today are astonishing, and we are experiencing swift progress. With AI, we possess the ability to advance at a much quicker rate. The world is transforming and is ready for its adoption,” he remarked.
In response to ongoing discussions regarding the improvement of AI systems, Chandok asserted that the advancements are unmistakable.
He highlighted that even the transformations observed in the last six months have been remarkable.
“The next three years could lead to growth in the AI industry at a scale of a thousand times,” Chandok noted.
He pointed out that coding has emerged as a significant application of AI. What once began as basic coding assistance is now becoming increasingly sophisticated and integrated into business processes.
“AI-driven digital colleagues are progressively becoming part of teams within organizations,” Chandok stated.
He also mentioned that AI now has the capability to draft legal documents, raising crucial questions about how companies will manage control and sovereignty over these systems.
Chandok emphasized the importance of considering sovereignty at the corporate level as AI technology continues to evolve.
He explained that companies are transitioning from being cloud-first to AI-first. “The next generation of companies will be primarily built on AI foundations rather than solely on cloud infrastructure,” he said.
Addressing concerns about potential job losses, he reassured that AI will not eliminate jobs but will fundamentally transform them.
“AI will not destroy jobs, but it will disassemble them,” he said, stressing the need for individuals to continuously enhance their skills.
“If you are not learning AI today, you are not learning anything,” he concluded.
