New Delhi, Dec 25 (NationPress) - Amazon Web Services (AWS) firmly rejected claims of a service outage on Thursday, asserting that their systems were functioning normally. The company urged users to refer exclusively to the official health dashboard for trustworthy updates.
Earlier, numerous users from the US and India experienced issues accessing services associated with AWS, as reported by the outage-tracking site Downdetector.
This led to rampant speculation across social media concerning a potential disruption in AWS services.
In response to these assertions, AWS stated in a post on X that the reports were inaccurate. They clarified that their services were operating as expected and that an unrelated event on the internet had sparked the erroneous speculation.
"No, that's false. AWS services are operating normally today, but an event elsewhere on the internet has prompted some inaccurate speculation on social media,” the company remarked.
AWS emphasized that the only trustworthy source for checking the status of their services is the AWS Health Dashboard.
“The only resource on the internet that provides accurate data on the availability of our services is the #AWS Health Dashboard," they stated.
Data from Downdetector indicated that issue reports peaked around 7 am IST, with over 4,300 users in the US reporting problems.
In India, the number of complaints was significantly lower, ranging from 25 to 30, although disruptions were noted in cities like Bengaluru, Mumbai, and New Delhi.
Several users in the US reported being unable to access gaming platforms, including popular titles from Epic Games.
Games like Fortnite, Rocket League, and ARC Raiders were among those impacted, according to user feedback.
Disruptions in cloud services frequently affect multiple platforms simultaneously due to the reliance on shared infrastructure.
Such occurrences have become increasingly common in recent months, leading to heightened concerns among users whenever major platforms encounter technical difficulties.
