CES 2025: LG and Samsung Make Bold Moves in AI

Seoul, Jan 2 (NationPress) LG Electronics declared on Thursday its plan to unveil its new Mobility Experience (MX) platform at the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2025, demonstrating how artificial intelligence and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies can revolutionize cars into personalized, multifunctional spaces.

The MX platform is designed to provide a tailored environment that can fulfill various roles, ranging from a creative workspace to a comfortable area for relaxation, reading, or watching films, as stated by LG Electronics.

At CES 2025, which is set to commence next Tuesday (US time) in Las Vegas, LG Electronics will present a concept vehicle based on the MX platform under the theme of "Lifestyle Solution for Mobility", according to reports from the Yonhap news agency.

According to LG Electronics, the MX platform aligns with the company’s broader vision of the "AI Home Era", where AI and smart appliances extend beyond conventional residences to include commercial environments and vehicles.

"The MX platform introduces a novel space solution that merges LG Electronics' advanced home appliance technologies with its AI Home concept," the company remarked in a statement.

In addition, Samsung Electronics on Thursday revealed its strategic goals for the new year, emphasizing assertive innovation to take the lead in an AI-driven future.

In a joint message for the New Year, co-CEOs and Vice Chairmen Han Jong-hee and Jun Young-hyun articulated their ambitions for the company, concentrating on achieving "super-gap technologies" to retain a competitive advantage in the AI age.

"We are at a pivotal point in AI technology that demands courageous innovation beyond conventional methods to succeed," they stated. "Let’s establish ourselves as the indisputable leader in AI with advanced intelligence."

They also committed to proactively identify new products and creative business models ahead of time while making substantial investments in future technologies and talent to seize emerging opportunities in the AI-driven landscape.

"We have strengthened our AI and quality-oriented organizations to enhance our technological competitiveness and guarantee excellence," they added, encouraging employees to pursue leadership in both technology and quality.

In respect of the nationwide mourning period due to the tragic Jeju Air crash, Samsung Electronics has canceled this year's kickoff ceremony for the first business day of the year.
