New Delhi, April 4 (NationPress) Chief Minister Rekha Gupta of Delhi assured residents on Saturday that the supply of both household and commercial LPG in the city remains secure. She urged citizens to refrain from overwhelming gas agencies.

Gupta stressed that there is no lack of LPG—nor any other fuel—in the national capital, and advised the public against falling prey to misinformation.

Providing recent statistics, the Chief Minister noted that on April 3, a total of 1,11,504 LPG bookings were made throughout Delhi. In comparison, the three oil marketing firms collectively delivered 1,26,379 cylinders—surpassing the total bookings.

This demonstrates that pending demands are being swiftly addressed and the supply chain is operating smoothly and effectively, she remarked.

Consequently, the average delivery period for domestic LPG cylinders in Delhi has decreased to 4.37 days, ensuring timely and dependable doorstep delivery for consumers, she added.

To combat black market activities and hoarding, the government has set up a dedicated control room (011-23379836 and 8383824659) that keeps a constant watch on the situation and responds promptly to complaints, as stated in an official announcement.

Based on credible and verified information, numerous cases have been referred to the Delhi Police control room, which prompted coordinated actions.

Law enforcement teams executed 22 raids across various locations within the city. In one operation in North Rohini, an FIR was filed, and six illegally stored LPG cylinders were confiscated, it reported.

The Chief Minister reiterated that the government remains vigilant and is taking stringent measures against any illegal activities.

She urged residents not to gather at gas agencies or LPG storage facilities, emphasizing that once a cylinder is ordered, it will be delivered directly to homes within the promised timeframe. Visiting distribution centers is unnecessary and leads to avoidable inconvenience.

Reaffirming the government’s dedication, the Chief Minister stated that Delhi is fully prepared to ensure a seamless and uninterrupted supply of LPG.

Point of View

The communication from the Delhi Chief Minister reflects a proactive approach to managing public concerns regarding LPG supply. The assurance aims to maintain calm amid potential panic, showcasing the government's commitment to ensuring availability and addressing misinformation.
