Government to Launch 40 Livestock Initiatives Valued at Over ₹545 Crore

New Delhi, Jan 12 (NationPress) Union Minister for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Rajiv Ranjan Singh, is poised to launch 40 livestock initiatives with a total investment exceeding ₹545 crore on Monday.

The Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying is organizing an ‘Entrepreneurship Development Conclave’ in Pune, where the Union Minister will be the Chief Guest, as announced on Sunday.

The aim of this event is to bring together policymakers, federations, cooperatives, industry associations, entrepreneurs, and financial institutions to harness the potential of the livestock sector.

“It offers a platform for stakeholders to address challenges, exchange solutions, foster entrepreneurship, and enhance value addition while promoting sustainable practices to spur growth in the sector,” stated the ministry.

The government is rolling out major schemes such as the Animal Husbandry Infrastructure Development Fund (AHIDF) with an allocation of ₹29,110.25 crore and the National Livestock Mission (NLM) with an allocation of ₹2,300 crore.

“By highlighting opportunities under NLM and AHIDF, this conclave aims to encourage inclusive growth and empower rural farmers and small enterprises,” the ministry noted.

The conclave will also feature the launch of the National Livestock Mission - Entrepreneurship Development Programme (NLM - EDP) Dashboard, which provides a well-organized overview of critical project information to the public.

The event will also see the unveiling of the National Livestock Mission Operational Guidelines 2.0 and success narrative booklets.

Panel discussions will occur during the conclave, featuring participation from government officials, industry leaders, financial institutions, banks, cooperatives, and representatives from federations and industry associations.

The Cabinet-sanctioned National Mission on Natural Farming (NMNF) scheme signifies a transformative shift in Indian agriculture.

The scheme has a total budget of ₹2,481 crore, with the government's share amounting to ₹1,584 crore and the state's share being ₹897 crore until the 15th Finance Commission (2025-26).

The government launched the NMNF to promote natural farming in a mission-oriented approach across the nation under the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare.
