New Delhi, Nov 20 (NationPress) The government has inaugurated the Centre of Logistics Training Excellence at the National Skill Training Institute located in Hyderabad. This facility includes simulation labs dedicated to truck driving, warehouse operations, and forklift management, according to an official announcement made on Thursday.

The centre incorporates principles of Industry 4.0 along with cutting-edge supply chain technologies to equip learners with job-ready and future-oriented skills that align with the demands of a technology-driven logistics sector, as stated by the government.

It is expected that this centre will significantly enhance the employability of the youth in Telangana and help create a strong talent pipeline for the area, as noted by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.

Jayant Chaudhary, the Minister of State for the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) and the Ministry of Education, officially opened the centre, which was established through a collaboration between the Redington Foundation and the Logistics Sector Skill Council.

According to the minister, India’s logistics sector is entering a phase of rapid growth, driven by the National Logistics Policy, PM Gati Shakti, and significant investments in multimodal infrastructure. He emphasized that the centre will aid in developing a workforce ready for the future capable of leading this transformation.

“As automation, digital supply chains, and innovative mobility models reshape the industry, skilled professionals will be the foundation of India’s competitive edge,” he remarked.

The government is dedicated to providing millions of youths with the skills necessary to enhance the efficiency, resilience, and global leadership of India’s logistics economy, he further stated.

Earlier, in January 2024, a Centre of Logistics Training for Excellence was set up in Chennai, which has become a model for contemporary, industry-aligned logistics training.

This Chennai facility has successfully trained unemployed youth and working professionals using advanced AR/VR modules, industry-grade simulators, and strong partnerships with academia and industry.

“With the establishment of this new centre, we are reinforcing our commitment by introducing world-class simulators, digital learning resources, and industry-centric training in Hyderabad,” stated R. Venkatesh, Global Chief Sustainability Officer at Redington Ltd.
