New Delhi, Oct 22 (NationPress) India’s journey in artificial intelligence is marked by significant transformations at the grassroots level, as highlighted by Professor Ajay Kumar Sood, the Principal Scientific Adviser (PSA) to the Government of India, during a statement on Wednesday.
During the launch of three publications as part of the 'AI for India 2030' initiative, spearheaded by the Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution (C4IR) India in collaboration with the World Economic Forum (WEF), Professor Sood emphasized the timeliness of these playbooks. He articulated that they offer clear strategies to ensure that AI is inclusive and impactful, translating technological innovations into tangible benefits for farmers, entrepreneurs, and communities throughout the nation.
“I encourage all stakeholders to collaborate in executing these actionable roadmaps aimed at the nation’s development. The integration of various departments and initiatives presented in these reports should foster sustained momentum and promote broader adoption of AI across society,” he remarked.
The three publications are titled 'Future Farming in India: AI Playbook for Agriculture', 'Transforming Small Businesses: An AI Playbook for India’s SMEs', and 'Shaping the AI Sandbox Ecosystem for the Intelligent Age: White Paper'.
These playbooks outline actionable strategies for implementing AI solutions in critical sectors of India, drawing insights from extensive field consultations, pilot projects, and contributions from government, industry, start-ups, academic institutions, and farmer organizations.
Each publication presents a collaborative model that specifies the roles of government, industry, start-ups, and last-mile actors.
Under the direction of OPSA and MeitY, and supported by a multi-stakeholder Advisory Council, the AI for India 2030 initiative aspires to create frameworks with strategic and global significance, placing responsible, inclusive, and scalable AI at the core of India's digital economy.
“With these reports concentrating on real sectors, we now have an excellent collection that has emerged from the involvement of numerous stakeholders, paving a path forward. This playbook illustrates how AI can be integrated into this transformation, unlocking new efficiencies, enhancing decision-making, and fostering greater prosperity for each farmer,” noted S. Krishnan, Secretary of MeitY.
