IRCTC App and Website Experience Outage, Tatkal Ticket Booking Disrupted

New Delhi, Dec 26 (NationPress) The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) mobile app and website experienced downtime on Thursday as a result of maintenance activities, leaving users attempting to purchase train tickets in a difficult situation.
This marks the second occurrence this month where the IRCTC mobile app has been non-operational.
With both the mobile application and website unavailable, users found themselves unable to book Tatkal tickets. Upon attempting to log in, users encountered a message stating: "Unable to take action due to maintenance activities".
Numerous users expressed their frustration on social media regarding the outage of the IRCTC app and website.
One user on X lamented that booking Tatkal tickets during the holiday season feels like a nightmare for railway travelers. "Servers crash right when bookings open. This is the worst website I've ever used. Why hasn't this been fixed despite repeated complaints?" he remarked, including a screenshot of the website.
Another user shared their frustration on social media with accompanying screenshots: "It is 10:11 am... still IRCTC is not opening.... IRCTC should be enquired and checked... definitely scams are happening. By the time it opens all the tickets are gone..."
One more user tweeted: "IRCTC server down during Tatkal booking timings. IRCTC Rail connect & IRCTC Next Generation eTicketing System Can't work during Tatkal booking hours."
An additional disgruntled user commented: "Extremely disappointed with the IRCTC website. It crashes or slows down almost every time, especially during Tatkal booking hours! Millions of users rely on it, yet the experience remains frustrating. @AshwiniVaishnaw @RailMinIndia, please address this urgently! #IRCTC,".
Another user noted that this issue has become a common occurrence: "Normal people like us can't log in and by the time we do, all Tatkal tickets are sold out. The only option left is to look for some shady broker who's going to offer the same ticket at 3–4x the price."
