Mahindra & Mahindra June 2026 sales surge 37% to 1,06,207 units
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (M&M) reported overall auto sales of 1,06,207 vehicles in June 2026, a sharp 37% year-on-year rise including exports, the company announced on Wednesday, 1 July 2026. The performance was broad-based, with growth recorded across utility vehicles, light commercial vehicles, three-wheelers, and tractors.
Utility Vehicle and SUV Performance
Domestic utility vehicle (UV) sales stood at 60,393 units, up 28% year-on-year. Total UV sales, including exports, reached 61,504 units. Nalinikanth Gollagunta, CEO of the Automotive Division at M&M, said the company delivered robust growth of 28% in SUVs and 35% in the LCV sub-3.5-tonne segment during the month.
Commercial Vehicles and Exports Lead the Charge
Light commercial vehicle (LCV) sales came in at 39,896 units for June. Within the LCV segment, vehicles under 2 tonnes recorded sales of 3,508 units, surging 36%, while the 2-tonne to 3.5-tonne sub-segment posted 22,568 units, up 35%. Three-wheelers were a standout performer, jumping 63% to 13,820 units from 8,454 units in the same period last year.
Total exports for June 2026 reached 5,918 vehicles, marking a remarkable 125% year-on-year growth — the strongest export print in recent months and a signal of M&M's expanding international footprint.
Farm Equipment Business Holds Steady
M&M's Farm Equipment Business (FEB) reported domestic tractor sales of 58,177 units in June 2026, reflecting 12% year-on-year growth. Total tractor sales for the month stood at 59,935 units, compared to 53,392 units in June 2025. Tractor exports accounted for 1,758 units.
Veejay Nakra, President of the Farm Equipment Business at M&M, noted that while it is early to assess the full impact of emerging El Niño conditions, 'strong government interventions like sustained fertilizer subsidies and targeted support measures at the local level are expected to mitigate some of the risk to farmers and cushion its impact to the Kharif season.' This comes amid broader concerns about monsoon variability affecting agricultural output across key farming states.
What This Signals for M&M
The June numbers reinforce M&M's momentum in both automotive and farm segments at a time when the broader passenger vehicle market is navigating demand moderation. The 125% export surge is particularly noteworthy, suggesting M&M is gaining traction in overseas markets beyond its traditional domestic stronghold. Analysts will watch whether this export run-rate sustains through the second quarter, and how the Kharif season plays out for the tractor business.
