Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Wednesday, 10 June lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 12 years of governance, stating that India takes pride in having strong and stable leadership during challenging times and difficult global circumstances. Vaishnaw described the milestone as a matter of pride for every Indian, noting that Modi has become the longest-serving democratically elected Prime Minister of the country.

Vaishnaw's Remarks

Speaking to reporters, Vaishnaw said that PM Modi has consistently guided the nation in a strong and effective manner, ensuring stability and progress even in adverse conditions. He expressed hope that the Prime Minister would continue to serve the country with the same dedication and commitment going forward.

Referring to Modi's vision of a Viksit Bharat, Vaishnaw said the goal has united 140 crore Indians behind a shared national aspiration. He also extended wishes for the Prime Minister's good health and long life.

Earlier on the same day, several Union ministers marked the occasion on social media platform X. Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal called it a historic day, saying Modi's leadership over the last 12 years has ushered in transformative reforms that have reshaped India's growth trajectory.

Goyal added that the benefits of major government initiatives have reached the grassroots level — from farmers to entrepreneurs, women to MSMEs, and youth to the middle class — empowering crores across the country.

Sitharaman on 'Antyodaya' and Inclusive Growth

Union Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said Modi's tenure has been marked by decisive leadership during challenging periods, guided by the principle of 'Antyodaya'. She cited the government's mantra of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas' as the foundation for inclusive development and citizen-led nation-building.

Sitharaman further noted that the NDA government under Modi has delivered bold reforms and implemented multiple initiatives at unprecedented pace and scale.

Modi first assumed office on 26 May 2014, and his completing 12 continuous years as Prime Minister marks a significant milestone in Indian democratic history.
