Jaipur, Dec 16 (NationPress) Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma on Tuesday inaugurated and laid foundation stones for development projects amounting to over Rs 719 crore in the Bikaner district at Lunkaransar.

During his address at the Rural Problem Resolution Camp and the development programme, he emphasized that the state government is committed to serving the public, prioritizing the welfare of the underprivileged.

“The government feels it is our moral duty to present our achievements to the citizens. Budget allocations have been made equitably across all 200 Assembly constituencies, and through the ‘development chariot’, we are delivering details of developmental initiatives to every constituency,” the Chief Minister stated.

He expressed that in just a span of two years, the government has taken remarkable strides towards effective governance, public welfare, and comprehensive development, paving the way for a prosperous and advanced Rajasthan.

Sharma noted that both rural and urban problem resolution camps are being organized with a public service ethos. Starting from September 17, coinciding with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's birthday, these camps have been held statewide for a month. Urban service camps are providing essential services like birth, death, and marriage registrations, fire NOCs, trade licenses, sewer connections, housing leases, land mutations, and enrollment in social security initiatives.

Meanwhile, rural camps are addressing issues concerning consensual land partition, mutation, and the opening of pathways. He encouraged citizens to fully utilize these opportunities.

Sharma mentioned that the government has implemented significant measures for the benefit of farmers, youth, women, and marginalized groups. The annual assistance for farmers has been raised from Rs 6,000 to Rs 9,000, with plans to increase it to Rs 12,000.

In the last two years, approximately 92,000 government jobs have been created for young people, with recruitment ongoing for 1.56 lakh posts.

The government has also established over 12 lakh ‘Lakhpati Didis’, distributed 10.51 lakh bicycles and nearly 40,000 scooters, and provided the first installment of the Lado Incentive Scheme to 4.60 lakh girls.

The Chief Minister highlighted that on December 5, during the Gang Canal Centenary celebrations, projects worth Rs 1,717 crore were unveiled to enhance the canal system. This includes Rs 647 crore for reconstructing the Firozpur Feeder and Rs 3,400 crore for renovating IGNP canals and constructing lined canals.

He mentioned that work orders totaling Rs 26,000 crore have been issued for the Ram Jal Setu Link Project in eastern Rajasthan, while the Yamuna water agreement has opened avenues for water supply to Shekhawati, with detailed project report preparation currently underway.

Farmers in 22 districts are receiving daytime electricity, with plans to extend this service statewide by 2027.

Sharma asserted that there is a solid alignment between the government's promises and actions.

“In two years, we have accomplished more than what the previous government managed in five years,” he remarked, citing that irrigation facilities covering 85,000 hectares have been established in two years, compared to 52,000 hectares five years previously. More than 35,000 farm ponds and 299 lakh metres of fencing have been completed, surpassing prior benchmarks.

Support of Rs 3,433 crore has been allocated to cow shelters in two years. In the Bikaner district alone, 1,952 regular and 2,540 contractual appointments have been made available to youth.

Insurance claims amounting to Rs 206 crore have been settled for 50,000 farmers. Additionally, 24,000 women have become ‘Lakhpati Didis’, with 7,788 women gaining organized livelihoods through Rajivika, and 1.52 lakh new units added under the National Food Security Scheme.

The Chief Minister announced major irrigation projects, including Rs 250 crore for the Barsalpur Canal, Rs 230 crore for Dhodha and Dantaur distributary canals, Rs 150 crore for the renovation and construction of the Charanwala Branch system, Gogariyawala and Bikampur minors, and Rs 270 crore for sprinkler irrigation across 44,500 hectares under the Dr Karni Singh Lift Canal.
