realme Collaborates with KRAFTON India to Transform the Indian E-sports Arena

New Delhi, Jan 3 (NationPress) The gaming landscape in India is undergoing a remarkable transformation, positioning the country as a dominant force in the global gaming industry.

By 2028, the APAC region is anticipated to generate $181.8 billion in gaming revenues, accounting for 54.4 percent of the worldwide market. Within this region, India's online gaming sector is projected to achieve Rs 66,000 crore by 2028, growing at a compound annual growth rate of 14.5 percent.

This impressive growth can be attributed to several factors, including India's youthful population, with nearly 600 million individuals under the age of 35. Combined with some of the most affordable mobile data rates globally and over 650 million smartphone users, India has fostered a vibrant digital entertainment culture, particularly in gaming.

The industry's expansion is notably visible in two major segments. The real-money gaming (RMG) market is gaining traction through skill-based games, while the social and casual gaming sectors continue to broaden their appeal among young adults and working professionals.

This increase in app-based gaming signifies broader shifts in entertainment preferences, spurred by rising smartphone adoption and enhanced internet connectivity.

In order to leverage India's growing gaming sector, realme has partnered with KRAFTON India as the official smartphone collaborator for the Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (BGIS) 2025 and Battlegrounds Mobile India Pro Series (BMPS) 2025.

With 2025 marked as its inaugural gaming year, realme has prioritized esports as a central strategic focus. This partnership comes at a crucial moment, as India is expected to reach 720 million mobile gamers by 2028. The collaboration will initiate with the BGIS 2025 LAN Finals in Kolkata, featuring an impressive prize pool of Rs 2 crore, underscoring the substantial investment in competitive gaming.

To realize this gaming-centric vision, realme has created an internal team composed of experts from research and development, marketing, and product divisions.

The team collaborates closely with KRAFTON India on joint research and development and exclusive debugging initiatives, showcasing realme's dedication to establishing a robust esports ecosystem.

“make it real” philosophy, this commitment is already apparent in devices like the realme GT 7 Pro, which has been well-received in the Indian market for its exceptional gaming performance capabilities.

The realme GT 7 Pro will also serve as the official smartphone for BGIS 2025.

This collaboration signifies a major advancement in realme's broader mission to transform the mobile gaming landscape in India.

Through strategic investments in esports infrastructure, grassroots initiatives, and technological innovation, realme aims to enhance accessibility to premium gaming experiences while fostering the next generation of esports athletes.

Beyond competitions, the partnership emphasizes the creation of a comprehensive ecosystem that supports content creators and offers interactive platforms for the gaming community, leveraging realme's expertise in high-performance smartphones and KRAFTON's influential role in the gaming industry to build a more engaging gaming ecosystem for Indian users.

The synergy of realme's technological expertise and KRAFTON's gaming excellence marks a significant milestone in the evolution of gaming in India.

As the nation advances towards becoming a global gaming powerhouse, collaborations like these between technology and gaming leaders will be essential in shaping the future of mobile gaming and esports in the country.
