Seoul, April 10 (NationPress) Volvo Car Korea, Mercedes-Benz Korea, Man Truck & Bus Korea, along with two other international car brands, will initiate a voluntary recall of over 117,000 vehicles due to manufacturing defects, as reported by the transport ministry on Thursday.
The five companies, which include Jaguar Land Rover Korea and Nissan Korea, are set to recall a total of 117,925 units spanning 49 models available in South Korea, according to the ministry's announcement.
Volvo is recalling 95,573 units across eight models, including the XC60, stemming from a software glitch in the event data recorder that may fail to accurately log driving data, as reported by Yonhap news agency.
Mercedes-Benz will recall 17,285 units of nine models, including the S580 4MATIC, due to inadequate durability in the brake hoses. Man Truck & Bus is recalling 1,515 units across 24 models because of an issue in the central vehicle control system.
Jaguar Land Rover will address issues in 1,401 units of four models, including the New Range Rover P530 LWB, due to potential moisture intrusion in the rear camera that might impede driving visibility.
Nissan will recall 591 units of the Pathfinder due to a faulty hood component that could potentially cause the hood to open while the vehicle is in motion.
Previously, last month, Mercedes-Benz Korea, Volkswagen Group Korea, Toyota Motor Korea, and two other manufacturers voluntarily recalled over 15,000 vehicles owing to defective components. The five companies, including Stellantis Korea and Ford Sales & Service Korea, collectively recalled 15,671 units across 11 different models, as stated by the ministry.
Mercedes-Benz recalled 4,289 units of two models, including the S580 4MATIC, due to a software malfunction in the engine control unit. Volkswagen discovered a brake control system software issue affecting 4,226 units of the Audi Q4 40 e-tron and another model, while 2,722 units of Toyota's Sienna Hybrid were found to have improperly secured third-row seat belts.
As for Stellantis, 1,731 units of the Chrysler 300C exhibited insufficient durability in the fuel pump components, while Ford identified a door control module software issue in 1,535 units of the Nautilus.
