Seoul, Oct 21 (NationPress) Samsung Electronics Co. is gearing up to integrate its proprietary Exynos mobile processor into the forthcoming Galaxy S26 smartphone lineup, as indicated by industry insiders.
The company’s System Large Scale Integration (LSI) division, a fabless entity specializing in the design and development of advanced system-on-chip (SoC) products, has successfully finalized the new Exynos 2600 chip, which is set to be utilized in the Galaxy S26 series commencing in November, according to sources cited by Yonhap news agency.
Exynos chipsets are crafted and manufactured by the semiconductor division of Samsung Electronics.
As per the sources, in-house evaluations reveal that the Exynos 2600 outperforms rivals, and the company is optimistic that it stands up well against Apple Inc.'s A19 Pro found in the iPhone 17 Pro models.
The Exynos 2600 is projected to feature in at least one model of the Galaxy S26 series, which is expected to be announced early next year.
If the premium Galaxy S26 Ultra incorporates an Exynos chip, it would mark the first instance of an in-house processor being used in an Ultra model since the Galaxy S22 series in 2022.
In prior iterations, Samsung Electronics relied on Qualcomm Inc.'s Snapdragon chipsets across all Galaxy S23 models, with Exynos appearing sporadically in some S24 variants.
The Galaxy S25, S25 Plus, and S25 Ultra, released earlier this year, all utilized Qualcomm Snapdragon chips.
Meanwhile, the launch of the new generation Galaxy S26 series in India is anticipated between January and March of next year.
According to various reports and market analysts, the model is expected to compete with numerous flagship devices in the market, including the iPhone 17 Pro Max.
If rumors hold true, the expected price for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra 5G in India is around Rs 1,59,999 for the base variant.
There is also speculation that it may come with 12GB of RAM and storage choices of 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB.
However, industry experts predict that the final pricing will vary based on the chosen storage configuration.
